PROJECT OVERVIEW

GeoEnergy Design delivered the RIBA Stage 4 and 5 design of a hybrid ground and air source heat pump system for 555 Greenwich Street, a 16-storey all-electric commercial development in Manhattan, New York. The innovative design integrates geothermal energy piles with air source heat pumps to provide 100% of the building's annual heating and cooling demand while supporting ambitious decarbonisation targets.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

GeoEnergy Design designed a hybrid GSHP and ASHP solution incorporating 63 geothermal energy piles, coordinated the integration of the renewable energy systems, and developed predictive control strategies to optimise system performance. The design also included continuous monitoring and data logging to support seasonal performance reviews and long-term optimisation of the building's heating and cooling system.
