ABOUT US

Arguably the most experienced specialist engineers in this field currently operating in the UK.

Neil Lawson

  • With over 35 years of experience in international thermal engineering, Neil has evolved from combustion design to championing renewables after witnessing pollution over Cape Town.

An early adopter of UK heat pumps, he's lobbied for electrification with the government for two decades. As a Ground Source Heat Pump association committee member, Neil contributed to award-winning projects, including Passivehaus, green hotels, and large-scale waste heat harvesting.

Outside the office, his boundless passion is evident in seminars, industry shows, TV/radio appearances, LinkedIn debates, and supporting newcomers to the heat pump field. Neil's adventurous spirit extends to exploring remote corners of the Earth and occasionally contributing to human-powered vehicle innovation.

Mindaugas Petrulis

  • Mind has industry leading experience and knowledge of Ground Source systems, having led all heat pump integrated designs across the team’s entire project portfolio and his previous 14 years in contracting.

Uniquely he has extensive knowledge and experience across heating, refrigeration, ventilation and simultaneous heating and cooling across all common industry technologies.

He has worked in Lithuania, Canada, and the UK. and has become an integral part of the GED team, acting as an important mentor, ensuring that his extensive knowledge is passed on to future generations of GeoEnergy engineers. Outside of work, Mind can be found walking his chihuahua.

Michelle Bartsch

  • Covering building services, renewable energy technologies, construction, and mobile plant safety, Michelle has gained a broad range of experience both in design and delivery of complex projects.

She has designed systems from domestic to industrial scale incorporating everything from Solar PV to CHP and all Heat Pumps, getting into the nitty-gritty of detailed system design.

She is known as a furious crocheter helping her focus in the modern Teams meetings.

Matt Crane

  • Starting with a school placement following through his degree with summer placements, Matt has seen the largest UK GSHP installation from conception to post completion operation as a junior project engineer while based on site.

Matt has gained 5 years’ experience in the field of renewables for the built environment, having developed skills across RIBA stages 1-7. Matt has recently returned from a 6-month sabbatical exploring all South America has to offer.

Apart from being a key member of the GED team, he spends his time playing a multitude of different sports.

Tom Arnison

  • Tom has been with GED since inception back in 2020 after a brief flirtation with EV powertrain design.

As well as other design projects, Tom has led GeoEnergy's PSDS support acting as both technical assessor for Salix and as a consultant, supporting prospective applicants.

In his free time, when not exercising his parkour skills bouncing off the walls in the office, you'll find Tom tinkering in his garage, breaking, remaking and generally adding to an ever-growing pile of incomplete projects.

Harry Tallis

  • Harry, is no stranger to renewables and their application with wind, PV, biomass, and heat pumps, having dabbled in offshore wind, wave and tidal power before joining GED.

He has gained 3 years’ experience and extensive knowledge of heat pump systems and associated equipment, hydraulic modelling, and system design, 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD and Revit), and IES Virtual Environment.

At home he spends his time running, swimming, or cycling in and around the city of Bristol or planning his next trip to the mountains.

Kauthar Amin

  • Kauthar is a graduate design engineer who joined the fast-growing GED team in 2023. Her professional trajectory has been shaped by an unwavering passion for net zero and sustainability.

Driving her to delve into the forefront of decarbonisation as she navigates the early stages of her career with GED.

Beyond the confines of the 9-5 professional landscape, you will often find Kauthar at a local coffee shop or looking for a new sport to try.

Daniel Fielding

  • Daniel joined GeoEnergy Design in 2023 after graduating from the University of Nottingham. During this time, he finished an industrial placement in the mechanical design department at Williams Advanced Engineering.

In his final year at university, he completed his project on designing an electric conversion for a classic 1960s Vespa scooter, which he is currently restoring in his free time.

Olesya Klyuchenkova

  • Olesya stepped over into the renewable energy sector after completing an Aerospace Engineering degree in Bristol.

Having grown up in both Russia and South Africa, Olesya has a unique experience in working and collaborating with a multitude of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
