NEWBUILD

Every new build involves heating and cooling, and we need to think differently about how this is delivered as we strive to banish the burning of fossil fuels in our buildings. It is imperative to consider the building and the solution as a whole from the outset. We don’t need low temperature hot water above 55°C to heat a space to 21°C. At the same time, we don’t need a chilled water temperature of 6°C to cool a space to 18°C. Both should be weather compensated.

Capturing the waste coolth from heating and using it in the opposite season to cool by storing it in the ground minimises energy and capital costs. Wholistic design is key. We can de-risk your project from inception to post performance optimisation.

RETROFIT

Whether your building is 500 years old or 20 years old, heated by mains gas or oil, using radiators or direct fired heaters we have a cost-effective solution, tried and tested for all shapes and sizes. Traditional HVAC design has used gas for heating and air-cooled chillers for cooling. A heat pump can deliver both. Re-appropriating the existing heat emitter circuit from fixed high temperature to variable low temperature can be done cost effectively.

Ground source or air source, we can support you through the feasibility stage to make an informed decision, RIBA Stage 4 detailed design to de-risk your project and RIBA Stage 7 post performance monitoring and optimisation to ensure what you have installed performs.

TESTIMONIALS

Jan Ponsford-Heliosphere

“I recently employed the services of the team at GeoEnergy for a decarbonisation project I am running at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt NHS Trust and found their technical and commercial knowledge to be excellent as well as their professionalism and proactive approach to the project.

I very much look forward to working with them very soon.”

Oxford City Council

“Far exceeded our expectations”

Eddisons

“Eddisons have had the pleasure of working with GeoEnergy Design over the past 2 years for the design and support with PSDS decarbonisation schemes. During our collaboration, their team’s commitment to the delivery of design services and technical expertise has been excellent.

They bring a wealth of knowledge when it comes to harnessing thermal technology and have a proven track record of delivering efficient, cost-effective, and reliable heating designs. Looking forward to further developing our relationship.”

P3R

“It was a pleasure working with Neil and Tom who were very knowledgeable and practical in producing a comprehensive analysis of the potential for ground source heating for the late Victorian Christ Church Sutton. This work was very valuable to the Church and to the Diocese in helping them on the road to meet the Church of England policy Net Zero 2030.”

GEP Enviromental/Mabbett

“GEP Environmental/Mabbett have worked with GED on a number of projects since 2022 providing low carbon heating alternatives to clients to help them in their quest to become more sustainable.

Notable projects include RIBA 3/4 Detailed Design for heat pumps systems for Surrey County Council, buildings included; 6 Primary Schools, 4 Fire Stations and 2 Libraries along with other Council offices. GED are also supporting GEP Environmental/Mabbett with low carbon heating system designs across a number of health boards in England and Scotland.

The engineers at GED are passionate and enthusiastic, and at the forefront of practical low carbon heating design solutions. They are technology and manufacture agnostic, which is important to GEP Environmental/Mabbett to ensure that the client is being provided the best possible solution. It has and continues to be a pleasure to collaborate with GED on projects across the Public and Private Sector.”
